Ram Pickup Truck Design Is a Big Hit

1. A new midsize pickup truck design for the Ram brand could be finalized soon and hit the roads in a few years.

2. This truck is expected to replace the Dodge Dakota and could resemble the Ram Revolution full-size electric pickup truck concept.

3. Stellantis chief design officer, Ralph Gilles, has created various midsize truck concepts, one of which was shown to Ram dealers with a positive response.

4. The midsize truck preview was the finale of a dealer event in March and was deemed a resounding success by Ram brand CEO, Mike Koval Jr.

5. Some design features of the Ram Revolution could make their way into the smaller truck.

6. Gilles stated that there are still competing themes for the truck design, and while the one shown to dealers was liked, it might not be the final choice.

7. The final design could be locked in as soon as this month, pending internal sign-offs at Stellantis.

8. Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares has been patient and supportive of the process and sees potential in the new truck design.

9. The next step is a study to determine the business case for the truck, a stage that has now been authorized.

10. The earliest possible release for the new midsize pickup truck would be 2024, according to Koval.
