After 4 months since the journalists test it Fuso Canter, near Stuttgart, the first official information announced about the expansion of supply of this small trucks – versions of the drive on the front axle.
Working Fuso Canter variant that journalists get a chance to see last October, is virtually indistinguishable from the production version. It was planned to start with manufactured in portuguese city Tramagalu, in mid of February.
For now, only Fuso Canter 6C18 will have drive on both axles. It has the largest total weight of 6,5 t, comfort cab overall width 2050 mm (with mirrors), four – cylinder turbodiesel with Euro 5 certificate (2998cm³/129kW/175hp), with a maximum torque of 430 Nm at 1600 rpm and reliable technology for cleaning exhaust gases – EGR + SCR, everything is enhanced with ceramic filter for the retention of solid particles of soot.
Unlike travel options with the same label, in this SUV will be built five-manual transmission. All-wheel drive can be turned on or off as needed.
Differential lock on the back is basically the standard specification, and the gear ratio in rear differential is 1: 5285. Additional equipment is rich:
- electric hook-ups who work at a voltage of 24 volts;
- single or double cabin with three or seven seats;
- axial spacing from 3415 mm till 3865 mm
Because of the 4×4 drive, capacity chassis is partially reduced. But it is still sufficient for its weight class (3500 kg – 3735 kg). With increased distance chassis from the ground, from 219 mm to 320 mm, input angle of the front is 35°(Canter 4×2 has 18° input angle of the front. ), while the output angle of the rear is 24°(11° Canter 4×2).
Instead of conventional rigid axle, 4×4 versions have a front drive bridge. Off Road abilities make Fuso Canter 4×4 the right choice for any transportation for non-paved roads.
It has a small diameter turn (13,5 m or 15,1). It is easily operated in the narrow streets. The cabin is located above the engine (Saves space). It has robust design. It is comfortable for the driver. Great truck, indeed.
